Does anyone have any information about an Ariens GT-16 tractor with hydrostatic transmission and hydraulic lift? It also has the rear mounted 36" tiller and a front blade. I haven't heard it run yet, but it looks to be in good shape. The owner is very particular about his equipment. He has replaced it with a new Kubota. Thanks for any help or information.

I have a 1980 Ariens GT 14 Hydrostat, 48" Deck, 48" Tiller, 54" Snow/Grader Blade, Wheel Wieghts and chains. I bought it new. I have all the origial manuals. I installed a Kohler 18 hp twin in it 4 years ago. The 14hp still runs I just wanted a little more power. I had to do some frame rail and drive shaft mods.
Anyway I love this tractor. But I wish it had power steering

I restored a GT-14 last year. Was amazed to see how well they were built. They are in every way as good a tractor as you can buy. Parts are still readily available. In fact this is the same basic tractor that they still build as a "Grand Sierra". The GT16 should have a front, mid and rear hydo lift. A front, mid and rear PTO. The shaft drive deck will fit both a new or old tractor as should the tiller. The Grand Sierra has a different grill and hood, power steering and a larger motor and sells for $6000 (without deck).

I agree 100%. I have a 1974 S-16 (16hp k341 last vickers hydro transmission before ariens switched to sunstrand) and a 1978 s-12. Attachments include 42 and 48 inch mower decks, 54 inch blade, plow, cultivator, potato plow and homade carry all for the three point. I have rebuilt my 16 hp kohler (after 28 years of service) if you need any service or parts manual info let me know.
