Need some advice!!!

My neighbor is selling a Dynamark 12 hp with a leave collector and mower deck for $525. I know nothing about riders and am looking for a simple rider (and cheap of course) to mow a small suburban lot and maybe push around some snow. Is this a good price assuming it is mechanically sound.

I have an 11 hp dynamark and its a real nice tractor it runs good with a briggs engine it has alot of power if u byy one then make sure it is a garden tractor with the tranny in the rear axil but if u want to push snow then get a bigger one if u want an all powerful tractor then get a john deere or a wheel horse but if you buy a cub old ones are the most powerful going ude only need like a 10hp to do what ever you want

I have had nothing but trouble with my Dynamark from day 2. I doubt you can push snow with a 12HP. Mine has been in repairs more than I have gotten to use it. I would look for something else. I sure learned how to work on a lawn mower after buying this one. I have had it for 6 years and it took me 2 of those years to get it running half way decent and I even bought it new.
Good luck with whatever you choose. Maybe you will have better luck than I have had.

For $525 you can get a much better machine than that. I own a Dynamark, and its not a bad tractor. Its just not a real good tractor. Try finding an old Wheelhorse, Bolens, Case, Simplicity or Allis-Chalmers (not necessarilly in that order). Cadets and Deeres are nice but a bit more pricey. When you go to sell in 5 years you will most likely get more than you paid for one..... Good Luck Art
