will this solenoid unsrew to allow draining of the fuel bowl? I would normally expect to find a brass metering jet in the bottom of the bowl, this solenoid needs to be powered to allow the thing to run. Before I try to take it out to drain the junk from the bowl, I'd like to know if there is something to be careful not to do. Ain't technology great. It's been sitting almost 2 years.

At the bottom of the bowl and the top of the solenoid there is a flat spot for a thin profile
wrench to grab, do not try to remove by twisting
the larger barrel portion, as damage to the unit
will likely occur. Fish

That solenoid has a tapered tip, which closes the main fuel nozzle when not powered. Prevents the engine from sucking gas into the cylinder when you turn off the key and it slwos to a stop. Supposed to help elminate the BANG that sometimes occurs after shutdown. You can remove it just like it was a bowl nut. Be caureful not to twist the wire too much as you unscrew it and break the wire off.

The little plunger in it should move easily as 12 volts is applied and removed.
