I have a 12 horse Briggs and Stratton I/C engine. The exhaust appears to be a 1" diameter, but I've yet to check. My question is- Can I run a piece of threaded, galvanized steel pipe from the exhaust on the block out about 6-8 inches, then put a 90* elbow, then the vertical 'exhaust stack' from a Farmall Cub? I've heard of people doing this, but I dont want to damage anything.

Thanks,

you can do it and it should run fine but you may need to support the extension so that all the weight and vibration are not on the block threads alone causing a threads failure their .by making a support bracket and clamping to it..i like ex stacks, cap it so it dont rain in it,lucas
