My new Cub Cadet has an annoying "safety feature" that I would like to defeat. When shifting from forward to reverse the mower deck is automatically disengaged. Since I do a lot of forward -backward mowing due to my yard layout, I would like to defeat this "safety feature". Anyone know how to do this?

I agree that the reverse PTO kill feature is pure stupidity. (unlike the "operator out of seat" kill feature).

I disabled it on my JD455 and it was extremely simple but I have the wiring diagram.

If you don't have the tech. manual just follow the reverse pedal linkage back to the tranny. Somewhere in the linkage will be a microswitch. The switch will probably be closed when in forward/neutral but open when in reverse. Verify that this is the case with an ohmeter and then just shunt the two wires comming from the switch. On my JD, I did this inside the side panel by the control circuit board.
