Hi,

I just purchased a used B and S, 12.5 HP Vertical shaft engine (model 289707, type 0114-01, code 94012640). How do I wire the Alternator hook-up wires; there are two green wires (someone did internal work and changed the originial wires) protruding from the engine producing an AC voltage.

These wires must be connected to some type of rectifer (didoes) bridge module to produce DC for battery charging of my Sears garden tractor.

Is anyone familiar with this hoop-up?

Thanks,

Charlie

If there is a rectifier it would actually be a part of the wiring harness. I am asumming the someone who rewired it cut the connector off??? If you guys send me the modle, type, and serial numbers off of your engines I may be able to help

Charlie,
I have a similar question. I am supposed to help fix a wheelhorse, 8 hp b/s vertical. I'd like to find the wiring diagram to see if it was wired to place AC directly on the battery like a small motorcycle or if I need a rectifier.
