How does fuel get drawn to engine on case 446 garden tractor? tractor starts but runs out of fuel. Fuel tank is lower than carb. It has an Onan engine on it.

On my 446 the gas goes through the carb wall. So the gasket has to be aligned with the hole in order for gas to reach the carb and cylinder.

The 446 I used to own had a diaphragm fuel pump built into the carb. The is a hose that goes from the pump area of the carb to the engine crankcase, which supplies the pulses needed to work the diaphragm back and forth to pump the fuel. the diaphragm may be bad, or the check valves may be stuck, or have dirt under them.
