I am still in my quest for a heavy duty lawn tractor - dont need a full blown garden tractor. On the JD LT series & Kubota's the clucth is enaged via a Belt Tension system. Is the electric PTO a must have? I have used the electric on my rental JD 235 - works very well. You would think for over 3000.oo a eletric PTO would be standard.. Also what would be considered a heavy Duty Lawn Tractor anyway. beside the price.

Go with the belt tensioner. Less money and headaches in the long run.

i think the only advantage to electric pto is you eliminate the mechanical linkage used on the other type,,just flip the switch instead of moving the engagement arm, just run a wire to it,,both accomplish the same thing basically,,,lucas
