Have located the manufacturer of my Lawn Tractor it is American Yard Products (AYP), a division of Electrolux. I have had mine for 6 years now, still cuts great and the Kohler engine runs better than ever since I rebuilt the carb this spring. Guys at work still tell me it is junk, maybe they are right but it is still cutting. I am curious what others think, I know it's not a JD or AC (Simplicity) but for the money?????

Thanks,
Doug

I inherited a MTD RanchKing 18 hp. 46in 3/blde deck. 30in tiller. Needed alot of TLC at first but has run like a charm since. It would till all 3 acres for about 6yrs. till I bout the Massey. But she still runs great and still cuts the lawn w/ease. No complaints here.

Junk, Junk, Junk. There is a reason quality mowers like MTD and Murray cost 50-100% more than an AYP. It's called quality. Take a 25 year old MTD and compare it to a 3 year old AYP and the MTD will cut circles around it. And if you want to discuss push mowers, the MTD will still have straight wheels. The one good thing about AYP is they keep the small engine repair shops busy.

I've had a Craftsman 46 in cut, with a 17.5 Kohler engine. Still doing good, Bought it in about 1997 I think. Only problem so far was a bearing in the mandrel went bad. I know this unit is not built as good as JD, Cub, but for the money it will do.. Of couse, mine is still farily new when compared to some others...

I've had mine 7 years (Craftsman 18 HP Briggs, made by AYP). It is Junk!!! Replaced mower deck and seat after 3 years, steering shaft and gears after 5 years, transaxle and ignition after 6 years. Yes, it is still cutting, but only after replacing half the tractor.
