I have an old ~1978 Montomery Ward lawn tractor with a B&S 8hp engine. It starts and runs just fine in neutral. When I start moving (either in 1st or 2nd of iys 3 speeds) it will choke out and die in only a few short minutes.

Ideas???

I replaced the plug and checked the gas.

Hi Al, I have a 72 model of the MW. I would also check the carb. clean out the main jet. A little bit of dirt clogging one, could allow it to run but restrict it enough to prevent a load. Sometimes if you let out on the jetscrew a little the debris will run through, on its own....Good luck Art
