I have a Cub Cadet 1872 Super Garden Tractor with hydrostat drive. It has the front hydraulic quick connects for angling front blade etc. These outlets are controlled by a lever on the dash (next to the hyd. lift lever). My question is, does any body know what the system pressure or flow is on this model, and... how would I tap into this circuit if I want to add a loader with lift and tilt controls? Meaning, is there a way to use the front quick connects? I think I'd have to by-pass the dash lever spool, and when the loader is not attached, put a patch tube between the qucik connects to allow flow. any ideas?? Thanks!

oh yeah, by the way, then you can connect the loader hydralic lines to the gresen valve

hey dave
to tap into the hydraulic power is simple.
run two hydraulic lines from the existing quick connects to a gresen valve that you can get at a hydraulic supply store. then to use the gresen valve simply put the OEM hydraulic lever on the side of the dash in the float position (either fully forward or fully back) there should be a detent ball to hold the lever in this position.
as for system pressure, get a 0-3000 psi pressure gauge and tap in to the quick connects, then read the pressure

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the good information! Just one more hydraulic newbie question. The lever on the dash that controls the front quick connects does not have a float position. It is spring loaded to return to center. And, it would hold the load (angle of the front blade) when the lever was released and returned to center. Given this, if I disconnect the spring return mechanism and lock the lever in the forward or backward poistion, will it still provide constant flow to the front outlets (and then to the Gresen loader valve)? And, if I wanted to remove the loader I'm assuming I'd just have to re-center the dash lever.
