Just got 195 in trade as a project starter as I've just retired. I don't know squat about these
workhorses but a quick learner as I've built/repaired industrial machines all my life.
Any guru's out there to point me in right direction to repair this problem and am having hard time getting service manual. Reverse is strong but forward sucks. All imput will be
appreciated. Thanks Bill

Two things I would check first. Since its strong in reverse pressure is not a problem so I would first measure the spool travel, should be approxiamatley 3/8" either direction from neutral. The I would check the lock valve on the drive motor, could be the spool is not moving properly for forward travel, this spool keeps the hydraulic motor from freewheeling. Hope this helps.

Max: Thank you ever so much for your impute. The
stroke on control valve seems OK. The lock valve?
Does it act like a brake? Is it on the control
valve? Guess I'll just have to get my wide body
under tractor and see after mowing deck is remove
d. Is the hydra motor a Char Lynn as I've changed
a few of those babies on molds in diecast dept.
This is one of the few sites I can get help and
not grab for my wallet.LOL Read what I told Art
about manuals. Thx again GURU Bill

The lock valve is located right on the charlynn motor.

Thanks Art for your impute also but I got this
company called Jen Sales ph# 1-800-443-0625 who
sold me the service,parts,locator,repair manuals
for $79 plus$11 shipping with 3 day UPS. Could have had it overnight for $21. Talked to Bruce and he seemed very knowledgeable and said I'd be
getting 4 manuals for the price of 3 for my 195
compact tractor 12 horse. This 1968 Case was well
cared for along with mower, snowblower, and wagon.
I traded all for a portable generator from a buddy
of mine. Thx again Art
