I have an older (70's I think) BOLENS HUSKY HYDROSTATIC 1477. It has a 14 hp Wisconsin Engine on it. Model # S14D. Serial # 4636582. Spec. # 318974.

I am getting a lot of blow by, through the oil dipstick tube, and last week noticed a serious drop in power, and a lot of rapping coming from the motor. I think i'm in for a rebuild. Does any one have any idea's for information to rebuild this motor. I'm figuring that the motor has probally been rebuilt before. If there is already an oversized piston in the cylinder, can these motor's be bored out for piston sleeves? Any good idea's for a resource to this? How about a source for valves, bearings etc. I am capable of doing the work, just lacking enough information.

I just got a Bolens 1477 with the same s14d wisconsin engine - could I get the contact info as the engine isn't running right now - also has a Johnson loader on it - may need some help with that also
