Bolens 850 ---need help

I have Bolens 850 with 8hp. Wisconsin engine. Starts perfect and then engine dies like it is out of gas.This happens after running a few minutes or sometimes after running 30 or more min.Engine always starts again.Could high speed jet be clogged? need help thanks William

Sounds like your float sticks. But S-8D's often loose spark due to dirty (NOT WORNOUT) points.

I need a wiring diagram for an old bolens lawn mower it has a starter genarator I think the model number is 131002

check the fuel filter inside the gas tank itself.yoy might also have a exterior one. i have 2 on mine

I have an 850, was pchsd new by the guy I got it from in 1967..... ..The Wis engine. When I got it it did the same thing. Is there a gas smell to this thing when running or not running?

I had a bad gasket betoween the fuel supply and the carb. I just made one to work and it quit.

Since using I noticed that the choke liked to "pull on" and I just bent the cable so it would stay put.

Also I use " Instead of lead" in the gas as it is an older model. Stopped the black smoke and runs like a screaming ape now.

Let me know what the particulars are, Maybe I can help.

I got parts at the local lawn and garden dealer. I think that troy bilt owns Bolens now.

William our bolens 1220 seems similar in its clitches .as it warms up it dies out. Do you know where to abtain parts . new or rebuilt , starters, solid state ignition module etcwould appreciate a message if you do.
