For what it's worth,as a kid ,my best friend's grandfather was an engineer. His office was in the basement of their huge ranch-style house in Oxford,OH.,where I grew up.There was always something cool to look at,things like blueprints for missiles and machines he had desinged hanging on every wall(the missile blueprint was on the bathroom door!)Anyway,The grandpa had an electric riding mower that had a very wide bench seat on it-big enough for two 12 year old boys to sit on while we cut the grass to earn gas money for his dirt bike. I have always remembered the GE logo on it,and was told that my friends grandpa had designed it -or part of it-for GE.I thought it was cool! Quiet, front mounted deck, variable speed. It had a series of batteries under the bench seat, and it was a mustard yellow color. It doesn't look like the mowers on the linked site,I was told it was a prototype and he had it because he designed it.The grandpa has to be 70 or 80 years old now.Just thought I'd share this with you guys who are interested in these GE mowers.BillJ

My granddad was a public relations/farm relations representative with Allegheny Power. GE sent him an Elec-Trak with a host of attachments so he could demonstrate it. He had it for two years, using it for mowing, snow removal, pulling parade floats, etc. We have photos and 8mm movie film of him on it. I recently became interested in them again, and may start looking for one of my own. There is an Elec-Trak site - punch this link:

I could not get the site through your link Glenn. Our dealership sold these new and have some items left but do not have time to dig them out until fall, contact me then if you are interested in anything.
