Hey anyone know of a good fix to a broken driveshaft pin for a Cub Cadet 109? I have broken 3 of them already. I'm thinking the drive coupling is worn funny and puts all the load on one side of the pin instead of both sides. Maybe new drive coupling?

On our 128 appeared to be a double roll pin replaced both with good bolts . Have had no trouble for 20+ years.

on my pulling tractor, the roll pin sheared the first time we pulled. after that we put bolts in the shaft and have had no problems in the past two years.

Are you using a "spring pin" or a "roll pin". If I remember correctly it should be a "roll pin".

Pull the drive shaft and the coupling, check to see if the holes are oblong. If they are replace both. Also check the the drive componants on the clutch/engine side. I have done that to the last several Cubs I have had. You do a lot fewer repairs if you do it right the first time.
