Having some problems with the hydro - when going forward or reverse there is a loud grinding noise coming from under the seat. I think there is a pulley under there that drives the hydro pump? Could this be the problem? It also does not seem to go nearly as fast as it once did and after mowing several hours it really starts to slow down. Is there a rebuild kit for the hydros or would a guy just have to buy a replacement? Thanks!

I have one also. Did you look at the pulley that tightens the belt? It is right under the seat. If the bearing goes bad in that pulley the belt just runs over it and will eventually ruin the belt. I have changed the pulley in the past after it went bad. If that is OK and the pulley is tight try some belt dressing to make the belt sticky. There is a pulley with a fan blade on it that the belt rides on if that pulley is bad this may be a problem also. The reason I seem to know a little is that I just tore mine all apart due to the hydro unit. MY tractor just stopped moving and now I have tore it apart took it to a cub shop they thought they fixed it but I still have the same problem. I priced the hydro unit and it is around 600.00

FIRST THING YOU SHOUD DO IS REPLACE THE BELT AND THE IDLER SPRING,IF THE BELT IS SLIPPING IT MAKES A SOUUND LIKE THE TRANY IS GRINDING THAT IS THE CHEAPEST WAY TO START IF THAT DOESNT HELP THEN IT WILL HAVE TO BE TORN DOWN, PROBBABLY THE SPLINES ON THE OUTPUT SHAFT HAVE STRIPPED REPAIR WILL RANGE FROM 250-750.00
