I have this 9 HP Briggs 1977 code 7706081 engine I removed from the Mighty Mite. It was not the original motor. What other uses was this engine used for. I also have this strange designed clutch that has a gear tooth edged disk in the center that used a lever to engage it. The clutch is called a 4 1/2 inch, twin disk type. It was the original clutch on the Mighty Mite. Did they use this type of clutch on other old lawn tractors? The Mighty Mites transmission has the date of 1948 on it and was a 3-speed with reverse and suposily came out of a Jeep. Mark H.

What site is the one you are talking about. I went to Antinque Small Engine site and they only have old engine stuff. It has great compression too! Heavy engine for 9 HP compared to now days ones. Must be that it is cast iron instead of alumlmin. It is the Gold one with easy spin on it, Rope start and has 9 HP on the cover. Mark H.
