I need to rebuild my JD 318 Onan. Is there a web sight that shows exploded views of the engine or any other helpful info before I get start? Or does someone out there have this they can send me?

Steve,

I agree with Dennis; the much better alternative is to replace the engine completely. I rebuild Deere's, and won't even consider splitting the case on an Onan- To do a quality rebuild and not cut corners is gonna cost upwards of $500 to $700 in parts alone not including labor or machine work. For an extra couple hundred bucks, you are done in one afternoon, have everything new including starter, carb and warranty, and have more power to boot. It's a no-brainer for me.

Take care,

Mike

Steve - You would be well advised to purchase a component technical manual and parts manual for your engine, either from Deere (1-800-522-7448) or from an Onan distributor (Cummins). It's a lot more involved than just looking at exploded view assembly drawings. - Dave

Hey, Dave Unless you really enjoy rebuilding engines,I'd suggest you buy a new 20hp. replacement(aprox. 1300.00).(www.smallenginewarehouse.com) It will start better and have alot more power. With alot less work
