Jacobsen 775 engine swap

Hi. I've recently been given a Jacobsen 775 in perfect condition, but without an engine, gas tank, or seat. Well, my uncle gave me a Briggs and Stratton 12 horse Industrial engine for it.

I was measureing yesterday, and have realized two or three things. First, this engine eats up space under the hood, fast. Now, I have to turn the engine so the cylinder head is on the side opposite the clutch, because I like having the spark plug easily accessible. Now, this causes a problem. The air filter box on the engine hits the gas tank mount. When I remove the cover and filter, it fits well. I believe I can move the air filter assembly with some careful PVC pipe work, so I'm not really worried about this.

What really concerns me is the gas tank. I dont have the stamped sheetmetal cover on the engine, and the flywheel is really tall. I need to know the outer dimensions of the gas tank for a 775 Jacobsen, 75 Ford, or whatever it is in MM or Oliver terms. I need the full outer dimensions, and then the distance from the back of the fill tube to the outer edge of the tank on the engine side. Do you have to reach your hand through the hole in the hood to remove the gas cap, or am I wrong? From the photos, it appears that you do. If anyone could provide me with pictures of the tank, it'd be much appreciated, but I could use the dimensions even more.
Thanks,
