I bought a 2 year old 22HP 6 speed tractor this summer that had been well maintained. After several weekends of use, I had to replace a mandrel and a mower belt. Besides the cut looking uneven, it worked ok. When attempting to move it out of my garage the next time I needed it, I backed up, then went forward a little. Then it stopped moving at all. The engine runs fine. What could have broken/come loose/come off track?

Thanks

I had a similar problem with mine a couple of times. Turned out it was hung between High & low gears. Fixed by putting it in low, then shift back to high gear with the High/Low shifter...

If you find out your problem lies in the transmission, see if it is a peerless brand transmission. If it is you might be able to fix it yourself. I was given a craftsman lawntractor the other day because the trans wouldn't work, Two new gears and it was good as new. So post what you find. I know of another website to ask on if you find out the problem lies in your trans. Chris Smith Ps. I wll put the web adress at on the end of this post.

If you are lucky it threw the drive belt for the transaxle or the engine pulley stripped out the keyway and the engine shaft is spinning but not turning the pulley (Same holds true for the pulley on the transaxle, it also has a keyway). If you aren't lucky start looking for a transaxle assembly there ain't anything else there.

I just purchased a used 12/42 6 speed transmatic transaxle riding mower. It is a Montgomery Wards brand. The mower runs good and is in fair condition, however needs a tune up. Also, I would like to see if I could purchase a Catch bag for this mower, but I don't have a clue as to where to look, or who to ask. I'm hoping that you can steer me in the right direction. The make/model number is: TMO-3394803/D232H1. The serial number is: H035453 92 1

You will first have to find out who built the mower. Either MTD, Murray, or AYP. (Monkey Wards did not build their own.) Once you figure out who built it there should be no problem obtaining a bagger.
