Have a '68 IHCC (122) 10hp Kohler, that just recently overheats. Bad enough to pop the fuel shut-off valve apart and soak me with gas... could have been someone else writing this by now. Nothing is obvious (rat nest, fan blade, etc.) Gratefull for any advice, FB

I don't consider myself any kind of expert, so you may get different opinions from others - but the thought that pops into my head is that the carb has some dirt in it and it's causing the engine to run lean. An engine that is running lean will run hot until it melts a hole in the piston or ruins something else.
