Does anyone have any experience with the craftsman Aerators/Spreaders? My lawn is only one year old, and the topsoil is sandy. I would like to spread a very thin layer of better topsoil, and overseed the lawn.

Should I go with a plug type aerator, or spike top? Will screened topsoil pass through the spreader?

Thanks

Todd: I have some unused attachment but just looking at them I'll guess they would be poor choice to correct your problem. You said "very thin layer" of top soil. A sandy layer under a thin top layer will defeat the topsoil under most conditions. Sand will suck the topsoil dry. Long term correction would be better if you could remove several inches of sandy soil and replace with good grass growing soil. My spreader would be a lot of work to lay down any worth while layer of good dirt. Sorry 4 being no help. G.
