I am looking for parts to an Amigo that I have kept running for 40 years. I especially need the spur gears in the transmission

I too have an Amigo (7 HP) and the gears were all worn out. Fortunately I am a machine repairman and I found spur gurs from Kingsbury Drilling machines would interchange except they had to be bored out and sleeved because the original Amigo gears had a different spline. I went through mine and re-did all of the gears including the miter gears that drive the mower pulley. I recommend you use hypoid gear lube in the gearbox instead of motor oil. If you can find an industrial catalog, Browning makes miter gears and spur gears that you can use with some modifications. Bearings and seals are all standard and still available and cheap as well. I am surprised at how heavy this little tractor is. It has turning brakes and gears. It weighs a TON compared to a lawn tractor. It is probably the most unique tractor I have ever seen.

I slavaged an amigo garden tractor out of my cousins barn. Many parts are missing including many of the gears in the transmission. It looks like it must have been a really good tractor for it's time.
If you are interested in the parts I have or if you have parts you would like to sell please contact me.

I too have an amigo garden tractor minus the engine. I have a gear blueprint so I had gears made as my nephew has a production shop w/ 4 cnc machines. I need to know what engine will mate well with the tractor. It"s a project I would like to complete if possible. The tractor has to be the toughest little machine I have seen anywhere. If anyone has any info please e me back. Thank you to whoever can or will help. I live in Cleveland, Ohio. I will travel( unless its the west coast!)

Dave,
The Amigo tractor, interesting and rare. You can get some info at this link:>Link
The>Link Amigo was only produced a few months due to some patent right issues, so I would believe you have a 1965 model. You may want to compare yours with a Gravely tractor of the same general age / size and you will find most the parts will interchange. Van

There were no patent issues with Amigo tractors based on the information given me by my uncle who built them. He and his partners sold the business to American Machine and Foundry. They changed the materials some gears were made from thus weakening the transmission. Six months later AMF ceased production of the AMF Amigo. Prior to AMF, a company called DEMCO built the Amigo.
