I had a cast iron Kohler 12hp engine that would shut off when it got hot, and not start again until it cooled. Turned out to be an exhaust valve that would stick open when heated up on a heavy load.

Try replacing the ignition condenser, make sure the fuel tank is vented properly (clean the vent hole in the cap)make sure the fuel shot off valve if equipped opens fully and the strainer in the tank is clean, replace the spark plug, make sure the needle and seat in the carb is clean and the float is not sticking in the closed position, jump(bypass) the ignition switch and run it to see if it still stalls and lastly try another ignition coil sometimes they quit when they get hot. Good Luck
