Could anyone tell me if all Case446 tractors are real jumpy when going to forward from reverse or vice-versa. It may be the nature of the beast. thanks for advice.

Mine is very touchy as well. You'll find most Case hydraulic owners have necks like football linemen in contrast to the pencilneck (no offense hydrostatic owners) operators of more standard slush-drive power equipment.

Yes, that's the nature of the beast when using open center hydraulics. These units are really jumpy after changing the hydraulic oil, which shows you how the oil does break down. One way to avoid the jumpy starts is to push the lever down towards the dash and then ease forward. This little trick will also extnd the life of the plastic rub block under the dash. I've got 17 years and over 500 hours on the original rub block by using this technique.
