I inherited a ford LT7 with no engine. I found a briggs 8hp and installed it. However, I do not have any way of knowing how to wire it up.
I have 4 wires:

1. Starter wire goes to starter relay.
2. Kill wire goes to kill post near throttle linkage.
3. White wire from alternator? What is it for?
4. Red wire from alternator area? What is it for?

thanks,

Paul

I just bought a go-kart and have a 8h briggs and stratton engine on it. I put an ignition switch to crank it but the battery won't charge, there is one wire coming out of the alternator. Do I run it to the battery to charge?

Need Help?? Christmas present!!!

Where can I find an ignition wiring diagram for a 8hp briggs electric start?

the white wire will supply power for the lights and the red wire is for charging up the battery.
