I need a little help. First off does anyone run a single stage snow blower attachment on their Craftsman tractor....and if so...does it do a decent job??? I have looked at one for sale at a local tractor supply place ($300 asking) and I'm not sure if it's worth it or....if it will bolt up to my 98 (20hp) tractor. It looks as if it has a few years on it, and I believe the model was an 840??? or the like. Any input would be fantasitc. Should I suck it up and get a new two stage????

There is a good chance that with few modifications the single stage will bolt right up. I have used a single stage snowblower on Two Hydro Cub Cadets a 10 and 12 hp and two Sears, a 10hp lawn tractor with 3 speed and a Hydro 18hp GT. The only problem I have had with any of them is the 10 hp Craftsman isn't geared quite right for mowing /snowblowing with it's 3 speed tranny. When we lived in the country that Sears GT18 with I believe a 40" blower went through drifts 2' high and 20' or more - no problem (Hydro was the advantage). I say go for it the price seems fair.
