I have a 1974 Dynamark Riding mower/lawn tractor model 5289-0200 with an 8-hp Briggs and electric starter. I rebuilt engine, tranny and starter and got a new ignition and solenoid. But most of wiring was shot and during the rebuild my dad just tossed it out, along with the fuel cap gauge. My owners manual says not what the guages of the battery cable and of the various wires are. If anybody has done this before or has such knowledge, I would appreciate it very much. As for the gas guage, it has a five-inch tank depth and the cap diameter is one-and-a-half inches (the OEM part number is 43335). If someone has an old one in decent shape (cracked plastic, missing needle or cork float not a problem) or knows where I can find a decent jobber or old OEM stock, I will be very greatful.

Thanks Ivan

I use #6 gauge for battery cables.
