Like Mr. Chestnut, I am addicted. That is the one thing about these Cub Cadets, they are addictive! I have 23 in south-central Tennessee here, ranging from restored to parts tractors, and would sell one or two to the right person. I also have used parts. I must say a couple things about the IH-only comment. The early MTD-made CCs are still the same 82-series design right up through the early '90s, but with some great upgrades like Magnum 18 engines with oil filter. I own an 1811 and am looking to get some more of these early MTD CCs as I find them. There has been some negative comment about failue of the aluminum rear ends used in these MTD CCs, but over the service life of all of them made, the rate of failure is actually very low. And if you prefer the older cast iron design, one from the IH hydro models can be swapped directly in. My favorite series is the 71-102-122-123, but any of the IH made CCs is rugged. I like the ones made in the '60s and early '70s best. I especially like them from Original through 123 because there are no more plastic or rubber parts on them that you can count on your fingers. The rest is STEEL, baby! Almost indestructable, and they run even after years of total abuse and neglect. (Can ya tell I'm hooked? Heh.) Join us at www.ihregistry.com/discus, guys, for a fun time discussing these old tractors and also just being friends.
