I just bought my first RED Cub Cadet. It's a very nice one owner 1282 but it has manual lift. Was hydro lift an option for this model?Or was the 1282 a "cheaper" model.I know it can be switched over, but if it's not "correct" I don't want to do it.Also, would a ported hydro from a 149 work if I would decide to make the swap? Thanks!!!

It's a Hydro transmission with extra outlets(ports) to attach a Hydraulic Lift!

1282 a very good machine, congrats! It is the same as the 682 except it has a 12 hp K301 Kohler engine. Nothing wrong with either the engine or the tractor design, so good job!

The 1282 came with a manual lift. No hydraulic lift was offered, to my knowledge, though as you say it can be adapted to it. If you swap, the ported 149 hydro will work, or the front section off any ported CC hydro will work when bolted to yer existing unit.

If you do not switch to hydraulic lift, I would recommend that you get a helper spring. You can adjust the tension so lifting a 50" deck if almost a fingertip operation.

It already has the 3-point with spring assist. It does lift easily but, after being used to my 1450 it just seems odd. We'll let the wife mow with it.Heh!Heh!Thanks Guys!!
