If you have an electric PTO clutch, you have to remove it. You also have to unhook the tie rods from the stearing bracket under the middle of the machine. Of course, removing the mower deck is necessary too.

You'll have to loosen the guides around the idler pulleys, and around the transmission pulley. Locking the brake and clutch pedal down helps to remove belt tension.

You also have to unhook the spring from the parking brake lever too if I'm not mistaken.

Is this a hydro or gear drive model?

teej, It is a gear drive model with electric PTO
clutch. Thanks for all the info... sounds like a
pretty good job!

One thing I forgot, if you can, pay close attention to how the belt is routed through all the pulleys. Draw a picture if you want.

It looks easy to remember, until after you have the belt out, and then are trying to put the new one back in. All of a sudden, nothing looks right.
