I have a '96 Economy tractor that we got from my father in law. It has always been very dependable, but it now has me stumped. Ran it inot the barn a couple weeks ago to work on the trans shifter that had stuck. Got that fixed, went to start it up - nothing there. No ignition, no lights, nothing. New battery had been installed while I was getting the shifter free'd up. I finally convined myself that the ignition swith/light switch was bad. Got a replacment from parts dealer in Erie, PA yesterday. Original switch has been replaced with a new ignition switch and a separate light switch. No problem with that upfit, but still no start or lights. I can run separate 12v from battery to light switch and I've got lights. Does any one have any suggestions. What is this rectifier that is mounted to back side of dash?

Is there a switch in the shifter so it don't start unless in Nuetral? Not sure they had them back then, just a thought seein's you messed with that. Can pull wires off and just cross over to check for that. My old 67 MM tractor had one, so maybe they had something like that in 69?

96, huh? Well, I agree with Dave in that it could be the inline fuse. Another thing to look at is the saftey switch under the seat. You know that one that shuts everything down when you raise up off the seat? It could be bad.

Now wait, I see 69 Power King in the title and 96 Power King in the body of your message. If it is 96, try what I said first, then look into rectifier. If it is 69, try the fuse then rectifier.

Also, you may want to join the yahoo group for Power King tractors. Good source for parts and advise. www.powerkingtractors.com should get you there. You won't be sorry.
