I have been pushing snow and I noticed some funny noises coming from the drivetrain. I took the cover off and the blades on the tranny fan were gone. Closer inspection discovered that 3 of the 6 bolts holding the transaxle to the frame were gone. Including the 2 bolts that bolt the frame to the axle housing into the transaxle case. These are grade 5 bolts and the seem to have sheared off at the threads. Question: Can I take the rear inspection cover off and get these out without doing the easyout route. What a mess. Thanks for your comments.

Doug, That rarely works. I've done several of them with variing results. Get yourself a left handed drill bit, sometimes this will loosen them up and bring the stubs out. If not, you have the hole there for the easy out. Just don't break one off in there! Some of them can be a pain in the butt to get out, just be patient. Replace them with grade 8 bolts and use never-seize on them for the next time. Check them periodicaly to make sure they stay tight. Good luck!
