Looking at neighbors 720 Allis. It has a front mound thatcher, 60 inch deck and a factory snow plow. The tractor has been garaged since new and is free from dents etc. It is in good operating condition except that it has a broken axel. The motor has been rebuilt and punched out about 3 years ago. guy wants $300 for it. It also has the 3 pt. What would an axel cost, and would it be a nightmare to put in...Thanks,,AC

If you don't grab it and grab it fast, you need your head checked. 720s are hard to find and pricey. One in good running condition can fetch as much as $2000 or more. I would love to have one myself. They're sharp!! You should be able to get parts from a Simplicity dealer; Simplicity built those tractors. Take a look at this site ... a bunch of dealers are listed, and you may be able to find used parts there:

If you are talking about a 20 hp onan AC 720 You better get it the axle should be no problem but you didn,t say if it is front or rear axle the tractor in parts is most probly worth 3 to 5 gran but I would fix it up because they are really fine machines in their time they were top of the class I will tell you the parts are a little pricey but the tractor price is very good and you can aford to fix and you will love it when you finished

You guys crack me up. It is the rear axle. He is easy on things, but was pushing dirt with the snow blade and got a little carried away on the clutch. He said everything turned, but it didn't move. He said he put a new starter bendix in it every month. I can't afford to have more than about $600 tied up in this, that's why I haven't moved on it. I could tell hin I hant it and let it sit there till this winter. He is not in a hurry to sell it, but he said that's what he'd take for it. Is it worth more than 300 the way it sets? In case I can't fix it.? Thanks, Andrew
