Hello out there.
I am re-restoring a Sears ST-10 vintage 1974. it currently has a Briggs & Scrapem' 10 horse vert shaft with a belt drive to the transaxle I origanally re-painted it in '93 as a Cat, (seen at Twin Bridge show for several years) but now I want more power out of the beast. The question is how big of a motor can the transaxle hold? Could I go up to a Twin with out twisting the frame, or, breaking something? I have plenty of room under the hood and I want to go with a trick appearance with it. It is semi retired, just plowing the garden with the 3 point hitch, and blowing snow (more for fun than actually needed) Bob

I wouldn't worry bout the frame or rear end.
Put a V-twin 18 B&S on that puppy and ride!!
Run dual exhaust pipes and lean the idle mixture down and it will sound just like a small Harley.
Polish the valve covers!
Been there done that
