A towing company has an 85 sprint with 125,000 miles. I would be putting the engine from it on my 448, it looks small enough to not be a big hassle to fit. The motor smokes. And it sounds kind of (but softer sound)like a diesel when you hit the gas. Its been sitting out for 2-3 weeks and they want 500 for it which I dought they will get. I don't know much of the history and reliability on these motors or if they are cheap to rebuild. Anyone out there with experience with these motors? Boyd

that is a susuki engine. Don't know about the cost of rebuilding but the cost of a governor will be kinda high. Last time i looked about $175. The cost of block cleaning boring and turning a crank in my area for that engine would run about $250. and I would guess $400+ for an engine kit with pistons.
At that price you could just about pay for a new kohler. If the original 448 engine is rebuildable I would go with that. A professional rebuild on a air cooled twin here is about 500.

You might not believe this but I saw one in a Cub 122 pull in PA a few years ago and it worked real nice. You would swear cadet installed it.
