When I move pto switch up it starts the blades; however when I let go of it the pto shuts off. If I use a bungi cord and hold the switch in the up position the pto stays working. I had an 1810 that worked so I changed the switch just to see what would happen. It didn't help so I know its not the switch. Your advise and help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

I have an 1811, and had similar problems last year. My tractor already had the reverse shut off disconnected. I took a piece of wire and pulled apart the connection up in front, just a few inches from the electric clutch, and then hooked a 12v test light to it, and started moving, to watch if I had power to the clutch during the time it shuts off. I guess the clutches can go bad and turn on and off, so this should tell you if your problem is in the clucth or somewhere in the switch. turns out mine was just a bad connection at the plug up front, and some cleaning and vaseline took care of the problem. Good luck.

Randy, That machine has a relay under the dash that will shut the blades off when you back up, when you get off the seat, etc. I ended up getting rid of the relay and wiring it to stay on with the switch in the on position.
