Yeah I tried that with the weights and threaded rod too and it just does not work that well. They loosen up or the wheels get bent up around the bolt holes. Check on Ebay, might find something on there.

I made mine for my compact tractor useing long bolts through the wheel weight holes with pipe over them cut to the right length to keep the wheels apart the distance i wanted. I put fat washers on both ends of the pipe to strengthen the area they contact the rims at. It worked out pretty good, but you have to watch them, as they will work loose from time to time. It's best to run one size smaller tire on the "outside", to keep the stress off the axles so far away from where they are suported by the houseing. Robert

If you go to the yahoo group "the sears garden tractor club 2" and look in the photo section under "suburban725's fleet" you will find a drawing to make a dual wheel kit similar to the one Sears sold. It uses the wheel weight holes and long bolts to hold the outter wheel to the wheel mounted on the tractor.

I know on some garden tractors, you can get the wheel weights that fit in the rim, and just pass some extra long bolts throught the outside tire into the weight.

Mike, Cub cadet sold dual wheel hubs that bolted with double sided studs to the axles. They worked best with 6-12 tires. Check around and you may find some. The other choice is to go with 26-12x12 tires and just get wider rims from something like a 1872/2072 Cub super tractor

I'm curious....what are the dual wheel adapters?? How do they work or what do they bolt to? Do they use the weight holes or do they ad something to the orig studs to bolt on new wheel? What keeps them from rocking and bending those parts when under pressure? Can new wheels be bought and wide tires? Seems like Pullers always have big wide tires, where do they get wheels for them?
