Looked at a #27286 with the 22hp B/S engine and 42" deck. Any thoughts?

I have a Craftsman with the 22 horse Briggs and Stratton Intek ELS and 46 inch deck. It will mow grass and weeds higher than the hood and not even kick in the governor. On a 42 inch deck, my feeling is that it would be overpowered. Consider a larger deck, if space in your yard allows. I like mine. Mine is a garden tractor with six speed trans. The only gripe I have is that high gear is pretty slow for road work. My friend has a Craftsman lawn tractor with a seven speed trans, and high gear is much faster. My garden is a quarter of a mile from the house and I haul my tiller and stuff with the garden tractor. Hence the gripe about high gear. Low gear, however is just about perfect for running the tiller. Regards..... ..P
