Does anyone have any experience with using a Bush Hog trail flail mower.
I am looing at buying a 50 inch mower to be pulled by an ATV.
Will a flail mower work well on a lawn?
Thanks,

Flail mowers are made mainly for cutting tall grass in areas where there might be rocks or other hard objects that might be hit by the mower. Trail mowers, are made in two categories. Rough cut are for tall grass, small trees and saplings etc usually of 1.5" or smaller. The commonly have longer blades and a basic deck frame to shroud debris from hitting outside objects. Finish cut mowers called trail mowers or wing mowers are made more for mowing lawns and leaving a nice even cut. They usually have blades in the length of 20-22" (on mower decks of 40 or 60"cut) and have shrouding inside of the mower deck tightly around the blades sweeping pattern in order to produce a vacuum effect to suck the grass blade vertical so it is standing up as straight as possible when the blade is cut. I have not used a Bush Hog mower.
