Is there any way to keep the blade from disengaging when going into reverse. I think this is a safety feature but I really dont like it.

I just got a 1527 and my mower stops in reverse also. There's actually 6 wires coming from the mower engage button. Which ones (what color) should be unhooked?

I once used one of my customers JD LX 277. It would shut off the mower when I went into reverse. Very annoying. On that tractor I found if I pulled out on the PTO switch before I went into reverse it would leave the mower on. The most common injury related to using a riding mower is the following: parent or older person is mowing and of course can't hear anybody trying to talk or yell at them. Usually a younger child wants to get the attention of the person operating the tractor and comes from behind where the operator is normally not looking and the operator goes into reverse and starts to run over the child and the child injures or loses a foot or leg or upper limb. They really should put a motion detector or heat sensing device on the back instead of a reverse cut out circuit.

There is a switch on the right side of the tractor with one wire going to it. If you disconnect the wire it will disable the switch. It is kind of hard to see. Get someone to work the reverse pedal while you look over the rear axle on the right side and you should see it. I think the previous post is assuming you have a 1572 which is a different switch.

Sure, disconnect the 2 wires to the reverse safety switch and hook them together. Use a crimp connector for a good connection. I am amazed you have a 1572 with this safety switch still intact! 99.9 percent of them are unhooked.

Look under the back on the right side of the transmission . You will see 2 wires one is screw on the other one is plug on use some pliers to unplug that one wire and your good to go.
