For a tractor to cut the grass on about 1.5-2 acres of lawn. The yard is not a "golf course" kind of lawn. It has some dips and doodles. I live in the Fraser Valley of BC and we get lots of rain and a stingy sun. The grass is usually damp and thick. It has a good mixture of moss too.

I have been looking at the ads for the John Deere L130. Seems like a good deal. Any feedback or other suggestions would be appreciated. I would love to buy another antique tractor with a belleymower, but I over came my emotions and realize with the tight space and soft ground in this BC climate it would be a bad choice.

Thanks for any imput. ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----

I bought a Cub Cadet 126, 34 years ago last week. Yesterday I mowed an acre with it. Have used it hard every year since I bought it. Did complete rebuild last winter. What might my cost per year be? I fully expect it to be going when I am not.

My 12 year old MTD gave it up finally (and thankfully) last fall and I started to look at cheap deeres and cubs (new). I ended up buying a redone Int. cub cadet 1450 (a '75) for $1300 with a 50 inch deck, hydro trans and Hydrolic lift.
Much better than anything for twice the price new.

I have a JD LT133 with a 38" deck and love it.
Does a good job in wet grass with the medium lift blades.

Try the best of both worlds get a good mower and an antique tractor. A good ole Simplicity/Allis Chalmers, Bolens, Cub Cadet or if you must JD once reconditioned will cut your 2 acres as good as a new one. It will be alot more fun, and will cost half as much and last twice as long as a new one.
