We've got a Case model 446 yard tractor with a mowing deck that is shot. The deck numbers are as follows mod. J45 with another number below that which reads w 11 3/8 . would like to find a source for the mowing deck plus any available manuals. I would very much appreciate any help with this, thanks..... .Foz

That sounds like a J46 which is a 48" side discharge that was made in the early eighties. You should be able to go up to a M46 which is a later version made by Ingersoll before the switch over to the V-twin Briggs which reversed the PTO rotation. The N46 has different supports added to the discharge chute for the Hydra Vac option.

The new Ingersoll decks are right hand and the old case tractors had left hand so make sure yu get the right deck. You should be able to buy manuals from Ingersoll.

Case lawn & garden tractors were bought by guy named Jack Ingersoll, out of Lake Forest, IL. It seems Jack had a Case, really liked it, and when opportunity arose, bought the company. They are still marketed under the Ingersoll name. (No conection with Ingersoll Rand) You could buy a new deck from them, as they are still building basically the same deck. You can also get manuals, parts, etc. from Ingersoll. Check out www.ingersoll-inc.com for the company's web site, dealer locator, etc.
