I have a 1991 Massey Ferguson Mower 216GTX that has this motor, and I am rebuilding it. Does anybody know who makes the replacement parts for it, and i would like to bore it out to .030 to increase Hp. Cant find any piston manf for Kohler? I need a rebiuld kit for .030 essentially?

simply boring a engine to .030 os will not up your horse power enough to make it worth while. We do alot of tractor pulling engines , you need to go pretty big on boreto get a significant horse power increase. unless you are going to use it for tractor pulling in a Stock Altered class I'd just go .010 os. you then have more rebuilds left in the engine. once you go .030 os. if you score out the cylinder you'll have to sleeve it of find another block.

Come to find out the motor was labeled wrong at the factory and it is a 18hp actually. After this rebuild, I don't [plan on keeping the thing more than 5 yrs, so I don't think it will be a problem. A question I do have is can you grind the cam to a more aggressive angle with bigger valves and gain a substantial amount of power?

Yes you can send the cam out to Chuck Vogel and get it reground. Someone else had another outfit to regrind cams but I can't remember the name. If you do have the 18 horse engine I understand the cam has a different profile than the 10-16 cam. You also should have a factory heat treated connecting rod in it. That's why parts are more expensive and not available aftermarket.
