Just curious here on some opinions on which anyone out there might like to have. If you had to choose between a cub cadet 149 or 1450 which one would you prefer? I'm looking into a new (old) cub purchase. Any particular reasons why you'd pick one over the other? Thanks for any input.

Here's my viewpoint.I have both, but I'd rather have the 149. Although both have their pros and cons, the 1450 has those troublesome rubber motor mounts. The sheetmetal has to come off if you have to get to the motor. The electric pto clutch can cause electrical problems. I don't like where the exhaust exits, mostly when I,m snowblowing. In my opinion, the 149 was the best garden tractor IH built. The 169 was nice, but limited in numbers, and hydraulic lift was'nt standard. The mechanical pto clutch if adjusted and maintained properly, will last for years. There is nothing more frustrating than looking at a driveway full of snow, or a lawn that needs mowing, and you flip the pto switch, and poof! There goes the fuse! Others may disagree, but give me a 149 any day!!
