I've got an 18.5 I/C twinII which will run and cut fine for abaout 5 minutes. . . then floods-out. Restarts immediately, but appears to need to cool prior to continuing operation. just rebuilt carb. cleaned gas tank and replaced fuel. new fuel pump. new vaccuum and fuel hoses. new plugs. i THINK it's the governor / throttle settings, but have no idea what changes / settings should be.

Any engine that runs perfectly for 5 minutes and then just dies is suffering from either...

1) Clogged vent in gas cap

2) Dying ignition coil/module

Ric, I have had similar problems with a 14 twin and it ended up being a plugged (partially) atmophereic pressure vent and leaking float. Let us know what you find.
Good luck.
