Thanks for the tips!!!! I also did some asking around and this is a few more tips, Clean out the seat and JB weld it and also stake it. Then here is one I like take the seat and grind a bevel on the outer top part then stake it in. It gives a little more metal to hold the seat in place!! Thanks Brian

YOU DON'T NEED TO JB WELD IT. STICK THE VAVLE SEAT BACK IN. THEN SCORE THE OUTSIDE OF THE VALVE SEAT WITH A PUNCH. THIS WILL HOLD IT IN PLACE. AND PUT IT BACK TOGETHER.DONE THIS SAME REPAIR MYSELF. TRUST ME IT WORKS.

I have run into this situation several times in the past and with everything considered I just put the seat back in place and with a sharp punch (center punch) I punch around the seat bringing the block material tight against the seat.I have had varied results. Don't forget to check and reset the valve stem gap.Note: some good small engine shops can fit an oversize seat.

I agree with buck. If you aren't sure of what you are doing you would probably be money ahead to take it to a machine shop and let them fix it. No sense in messing up an otherwise good engine with a slip of a hammer & punch.
