MY CRAFTSMAN LAWN TRACTOR MODEL 917.272121 HAS A PROBLEM BREAKING THE MAIN DRIVE BELTS. I HAVE REPLACED THIS BELT 6 TIMES ION 4 YEARS. MY QUESTION IS" IS THERE A HEAVY DUTY BELT AVAILABLE FOR THIS TRACTOR." PART NO. LISTED IS 139573.

THE MOTOR COULD BE OUT OF TIME IT COULD HAVE A SHEARED KEY WAY OR THE MAGNEAT IS NOT SET QITE RITE IF YOU REPLACE THE MAGNETO YOU MAY ALSO HAVE A GROUND PROBLEM. BUT IF YOU HIT SOMTHING WILE MOWING I WOULD THINK YOU HAVE A SHEARD KEY WAY

Thanks Jim, I did no hit anythingandI did replace the magneto. I tried to set it as best I could with my feeler gauges but maybe I should try again. do you think that it could be the clutch kill switch or seat kill switch?

I would suspect one of the safety interlock switches.
