OK here we go again. I posted earlier this week. Motor would barely run was backfiring. Have put in new carb kit, replaced magnetron ignition, now it is running but lacks power, spits gas out of the top of the carb when throttled up. Have adjusted the only two screws I can find to adjust but doesnt fix problem. have taken carb back apart made sure everything is clear. Any suggestions??

Thanks

IF YOU HAVE CHECKED EVERYTHING,PULL HEADS BACK OFF,ROTATE ENGINE TILL YOU GET EACH VALVE OPEN,THEN CHECK SEATS,I HAVE THAT HAPPEN TO ME MORE THAN ONCE (VALVE SEATS POP LOOSE FROM BLOCK) ESPECIALLY THE DAMN INTAKES,CHECK CLEARANCES ALSO..GOOD LUCK..

Just a thought, but you might have water in your gas.

Have you run a compression check to make sure the
intake valve(s) are competely closing?
If the valves are working correctly it sounds like an ignition timeing problem. Check the fly wheel key to make sure its not distorted and the
distance from the flywheel to the pickup coil. It should be around 20/1000. Check to see if there is any adjustment on the pickup coil mounting.

I set the coil with a feeler gauge when installed, pulled flywheel key is fine, can't tell if valves are closing completely, but have pulled heads and they seem to be completely closed.

The only other thing I can think of assuming its in time and the valves are closing is an air leak around the intake manifold. This can be checked
by spraying the manifold and the carb base with WD40 with the engine running and noteing if it makes any difference in engine RPM.
